Meeting Summaries
Over the years I have gone to many meetings on science, education, policy, or other topics that have been filled with useful information and intriguing insights. But usually the only people who benefit from a meeting are the attendees.
Lately I’ve been contracting with organizations to write 80- to 100-page books that summarize the content of one- to three-day meetings. I work from transcripts, though I often reorganize the material presented at a meeting into themes rather than describing the talks chronologically. In some cases I arrange for everything associated with the production of the book, from the recording and transcribing of the meeting to the writing of the text to the printing and delivery of the books. (Here’s an example). In other cases I just do the writing. If you’re interested in having me do a meeting summary for you, e-mail me.
Below is a list of some of the meeting summaries I’ve done recently. Most of these were summaries of workshops conducted by the National Academy of Sciences, the National Research Council, or the Institute of Medicine.
